EXECUTIVE  Leaders

Āriki

Care for the land, Care for the people, Go forward.

Great leaders accelerate personal growth outside their comfort zone, expose themselves to situations and cultures unknown to them and ask questions to transform the unknown to the known. This is true leadership.

Āriki, a journey of migration. Navigating from the unknown to the known allowing you to see deeper within yourself and your future. Embracing change and navigating ambiguity with accuracy, Āriki are the next generation of leaders for Aotearoa New Zealand.

The world is connecting with Aotearoa New Zealand and we are growing as a nation of diverse cultures rapidly changing the internal weave of organisations, creating dynamic leadership challenges like never before.

The ability to inspire people through story, help people and organisations to navigate change and connect people with common purpose has never been as important as it is today.

Through well-crafted experiences we reveal and challenge your instinctual behaviour to enable more meaningful and purposeful learning of leadership excellence.

The Migration

Our Ariki program takes place on the Mataatua Marae in Whakatāne in the Bay of Plenty. This location is steeped in history, with direct links to the original human arrival in Aotearoa New Zealand in the 14th century.

The program is a fully immersive residential experience, weaving cultural aspects of Te Ao Māori with behavioural leadership theory and practice. Participants are challenged to delve deep into understanding their own leadership journey, sharing formative stories with the cohort to inspire, and in turn be inspired. Through the unique lens of Te Ao Māori, our Ariki program will teach you the power of self-directed leadership, how to develop greater influence, and to lead and affect change for the greater benefit of society.

Who is Ariki for?

Our Ariki program is deliberately exclusive, with each cohort size limited to 20 participants. Participants are typically C-Level Executives, EGMs, GMs or Board Members seeking to cement their place amongst the next great leaders – the Ariki – of Aotearoa New Zealand.

We actively seek cognitive diversity amongst each cohort, believing this provides the most beneficial outcome for the participants and the program as a whole.
